Head of NPSC
PresentationThe NanoPhysics and SemiConductors (NPSC) team is a joint team between PHELIQS and Institut Néel that integrates researchers from CEA, CNRS, and UGA.
NPSC explores new physical phenomena related to quantum confinement in semiconductor nanostructures.
Our studies involve both the synthesis of the materials and advanced characterization of high-quality samples. The expertise of the team covers the growth of compound semiconductors (arsenides, nitrides, oxides selenides, tellurides) using advanced epitaxial techniques (molecular beam epitaxy, metal organic chemical vapor deposition), cleanroom processing, structural analysis, and state-of-the-art optical spectroscopy. The activity is also supported by theoretical studies.
In recent years, our research has included, for instance, the growth of semiconducting nanowires, the development of nanomaterials and devices emitting from THz to UV, as well as quantum dots for single photon emission or single spin manipulation.
Through our investigations, we aim to pave the way for future applications in the fields of photonics, quantum optics, electronics, and energy conversion.
