Silicon nanostructures for supercapacitors 2.0 combining ultrastability and high energy performance

Researchers of the SiNaPS team of our laboratory and of the STEP team of the SyMMES laboratory have developed a nano-composite architecture for electrochemical storage, with a protective nanometric alumina shell realized by atomic layer deposition.  This innovation allowed them to obtain unprecedented cyclabilities exceeding 8 million cycles and retaining of the maximum capacity close to 100% on their protected silicon nanostructures and 500,000 cycles with a nano-composite including a conductive polymer, a new step for polymer long-life cycling.
