Researchers from the CNRS, CEA, Université Paris-Sud and Université Joseph Fourier [1] have developed flexible light emitting diodes (LEDs) using a novel process. The scientists succeeded in obtaining the first ever nanowire-based flexible green light emitting diode as well as the first multi-layer system emitting in the green and blue spectral ranges, a crucial step towards flexible LED and white-light displays. Their work is published in Nano Letters on October 14, 2015.
