The Fall Meeting consisted of Acta Materialia Gold Medal Symposium, 12 thematic symposia, plenary session and satellite events. The 2012 edition was held at the Central Campus of the Warsaw University of Technology, from September 17 - 21. From year to year the Fall Meeting became increasingly multinational with a steadily growing number of symposia and participants from all over the world.
It was on this occasion that Bassem Salem was awarded the prize for best poster.
