This prize is awarded to one or more young doctors on the sole criterion of scientific excellence.

Caroline Botum Lim's thesis, entitled "GaN/AlGaN heterostructures for infrared optoelectronics: Polar vs nonpolar orientations", deals with the study of GaN-based semiconductor nanostructures, such as 2D multi-wells and those inserted into nanowires.
